Company founders Anthony Almonte and Robert MacCormack preceded their careers with Bachelor of Science degrees in engineering – Anthony in Electrical from Northeastern University, and Bob in Mechanical from UMass Amherst.
After completing several co-op assignments with Mass. Electric Construction Co. – a large scale electrical contractor in Brighton, MA, Anthony accepted a full time position, which he filled for 8 years.
Bob, a licensed plumber in the family business, worked for several years in various capacities, and upon graduation began his career as a staff mechanical engineer at Novare Engineers in Providence, RI.
In 1998, after earning an MBA from Bentley College, Anthony accepted a position at the Richard D. Kimball Company. Bob joined him in 2001. Together they functioned as lead engineers in the manufacturing/industrial group.
Building resumes in the Manufacturing/Industrial, Commercial, Laboratory, Academic, Retail, Residential, Aviation, Municipal and Adaptive-Reuse market segments, the pair developed broad experience in both the private and public market sectors.
With strong confidence in their technical abilities, Anthony and Bob formed Avid Engineers in 2006.
