The Point

Littleton, MA

The Point is the Littleton region’s only mixed use destination combining shops, restaurants, grocery, hotel, office and entertainment. Sitting adjacent to Route 495, it attracts shoppers from all directions. Avid Engineers designed the base building drawings for this 300,000-SF, mixed use, ground-up, development. In addition to rooftop units, natural gas distribution, electric service install and waste and water infrastructure, Avid was also responsible for the landlord/shell and core work associated with multiple retail tenants such as Dressbarn, Party City and many more.

Metropica

Sunrise, FL

Metropica is a retail development in Florida that consists of residential, office, and retail spaces. Avid Engineers was responsible for the design of base building and site infrastructure to support the retail, commercial, and hospitality section of the Metropica development in Sunrise, FL. Avid provided the design for fourteen buildings, a total of 451,000-SF and both parking structures for a grand total of 1,641,000-SF. The spaces were designed to shell and core conditions for future tenant use. This includes mechanical, electrical, and active plumbing and fire protection systems.

BJ’s Wholesale Club

Quincy, MA

BJ's Wholesale Club Holdings, Inc., commonly referred as BJ's, is an American membership-only warehouse club chain operating on the East Coast of the United States and the states of Ohio and Michigan. Avid Engineers was responsible for providing engineer of record services for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems. Avid’s designs included smoke exhaust, ESFR sprinkler protection, casework condensate, refrigerant recovery coordination, electrical distribution, as well as any RFI’s, shop drawings, and other requests from the contractor or building owner.

Chapel View

Cranston, RI

Chapel View, a branch of the Carpionato Group, is a retail development company whose “Live-Work-Play” environment is a staple of their brand in the marketplace. The Chapel View location is a mix of retail, first-class office space and exclusive high-end condominiums. Avid Engineers was responsible for the design of several ground-up buildings for the site. Buildings were left in a shell condition to accommodate the needs of future tenants. Fire and plumbing infrastructure was provided to support tenant needs. Avid continued to work on the shell and core fit outs for each subsequent phase of the Chapel View location, and provide many of the tenant improvement designs.

Garden City Center

Cranston, RI

Garden City Center is a premier outdoor shopping destination in Cranston, RI. Garden City Center is a 530,000-SF shopping center that houses retails such as Whole Foods & L.L Bean, Crate & Barrel, and many more. Avid Engineers was responsible for the preparation of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical drawings and specifications for many of the sites retail shell buildings. After completion of the first phase core and shell of the space, tenant fit outs were performed for the future use and later designed to tenant requirements. The plans included floor plans, part plans, riser diagrams equipment schedules, details and notes that were required for the scope of work.

HomeGoods / TJX

Multiple Locations

Introduced in 1992, HomeGoods operates in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. This chain has both a standalone and superstore format, which couples HomeGoods with a T.J. Maxx (TJX) or Marshalls. Avid Engineers has worked with HomeGoods/TJX on numerous designs for several TJX buildings and locations. One such project was the retail tenant fit-out done for a TJ Maxx store located in Middleton, MA. The proposed fit-out was approximately 21,000-SF and was created from the demise of the previously existing Walgreens and Fashion Bug stores. Avid Engineers designed the new fit-out’s MEP-FP systems, utilizing what was in good working condition from the previous stores’ system designs.

Middlesex Marketplace

Burlington, MA

Middlesex Marketplace is located along Burlington’s Middlesex Turnpike and features exceptional food and shops. The Middlesex Marketplace is highlighted by a freestanding built-to-suit structures. Avid Engineers was responsible for the design of the brand new 43,860-SF of shell and core space. The space was broken up into retail and office space: 31,900-SF of retail & 11,960-SF of office space. The shell and core spaces included the design of mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems put in place for future tenant use.

Newton Nexus

Newton, MA

Newton Nexus is a 142,000-SF office and retail development featuring six buildings located on Needham Street in Newton, MA. The intent behind the project was to further the development of the existing buildings into their new purpose of built-to-suit multi-tenant retail spaces. Avid Engineers was responsible for the redevelopment of three existing buildings totaling approximately 132,960-SF. The engineering efforts entailed development of the program and master plan for the sites electrical distribution. Avid Engineers also prepared conceptual electrical drawings to facilitate electrical site coordination with NSTAR.

Silver Sands

Destin, FL

Silver Sands Premium is home to 110 designer and name-brand outlets ranging from women’s apparel and accessories to housewares and sporting goods. Known as the premier shopping destination in Northwest Florida, this beautiful outdoor mall features covered sidewalks, lush landscaping and a children’s play area. Avid Engineer’s designed Phase IV of the Silver Sands build-out and was responsible for all mechanical, plumbing, electrical and fire protection design elements, including site utilities, outdoor infrastructure and amenities and all shell/core building elements to support both dry goods retail and dining space.

Wayside Commons

Burlington, MA

Wayside Commons accommodates 30 retail stores on Wayside Rd. located in Burlington, MA. Through out the last fifteen years, Avid Engineers has performed a number of base building upgrades to accommodate Waysides tenants, and has also participated in a number of tenant fit outs for retail stores. As the go-to engineer for Wayside Commons, Avid Engineers has prepared fire protection, plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire alarm drawings and specifications for each of these projects. As part of these projects, Avid coordinate the preliminary space requirements with the tenant in order to develop systems and layouts acceptable to their needs. Avid would provide these documents as well as construction administration work after design was completed.
