Various Photovoltaic Manufacturing Facilities

Avid has performed schematic design phase planning and analysis for multiple facilities. Specific efforts have included detailed energy modeling of various options and associated life-cycle cost calculations to determine building utility consumption and environmental impact. Energy conservation measures reviewed to date include: exhaust air energy recovery, non-evaporative cooling & aggressive waste water recycling, sea water cooling, incorporation of cascading cleaning methods, double effect absorption cooling, 15kV distribution and power factor correction.

In addition, ancillary process designs have included: analysis of Feedstock Etch, Wafer PreClean, Isotext Etch, Oxide Etch, Abatement and Chemical Supply equipment. Confirmation of thermoplastic exhaust stream compatibility with stream chemistry including (KOH, HCL, HF, CH3COOH, HNO3 SiF4, NOx). Bulk Chemical Delivery Design of H202, Alkaline, Acid and Neutral Waste Distribution of H2O2, HNO3, HF, HCL and KOH through PFA for process use at fabrication equipment. Emergency DSS cooling design to protect against catastrophic failure in case of primary and secondary cooling system failure. PID documentation of proposed systems and provisions for auto-reset. Third party peer reviews / commissioning assistance / PECVD cooling system design.
